Kayaking Point Lobos

Went with some friends to Point Lobos to go kayaking. The waves were a bit high, so we didn't paddle as long, nor try to rock garden as much, as we had hoped. I took a couple of pictures (below).

At the end of the paddle, I did play at the launch point for a little bit. Brian and Janet caught some of it on film, and made the video below.

Riding the swells

We went paddling last weekend off of Half Moon Bay. There were 6 to 8 foot swells reported, which are not that large for ocean waves. But they do make you go up and down a lot.
先週末Half Moon Bayでカヤックに乗った。外洋うねりの高さは2メートルごらいだった。

Kayaks are very stable, so these swells are not really an issue. They won't knock you over, but when you are in the trough of the wave, you can't see anything around you besides water.
カヤックはしっかり安定しているので、そのうねりは困らない。

After the paddle, we watched a talk at Half Moon Bay Yacht Club on a new book - The Islands of San Francisco Bay. This book covers the 45 or so islands in the bay, with a particular focus on the nature found on the islands. The author was there and showed us some of the beautiful photos. We liked it so much that we bought the book.
カヤックの後、新刊書のプレゼンを見た。サンフランシスコ湾の島の本だ。多いいい写真がある。

We did get to see a beautiful sunset after the presentation.
プレゼンの後、美しい夕焼けが見た。
